Select from two basic folder styles:

Drawer Filing (Top Tab)

Top Tab is for filing in drawers, as pictured on the left, like in a desk or filing cabinet with pull-out drawers. Labels on the tab are visible while in a drawer. Standard widths are; Letter: 11-3/4, Legal: 14-3/4, Height is 10 inches including tab.
These files are too tall to fit on standard filing shelves.

Shelf Filing (Side Tab)

Side Tab is for filing on open shelves, as pictured on the left, like extra deep book shelves with labels on the side tab being visible while on the shelf. Side Tab is sometimes referred to as End Tab. Standard widths are; Letter: 12-1/4, Legal: 15-1/4, Height is 9-1/2 inches.
These files are too wide to fit in standard filing drawers.

The names, Top Tab or Side Tab, refer to the position of the tab when stored.
